Pest Control in Parkland Golf & Country Club

Parkland Golf & Country Club is a guard-gated community built around an 18-hole course designed by Greg Norman. The homes lean Mediterranean in style, with tile roofs, stucco and large landscaped lots, many of them with pools.

Golf course lots have their own pest pattern. Open turf, ponds and tree lines are right behind the house, and the course irrigation keeps that edge damp. Expect more mosquitoes in the wet season, more critters coming off the course at night, and lawns that get compared to the fairway behind them.

Tile roofs and roof rats

Mediterranean tile roofs look great, but the open ends of the first row of tile at the eave are a common entry spot for roof rats. Add mature palms and fruit trees in the backyard, and you have everything a rat wants. If you're hearing something overhead at night, read our rodent control page and give us a call.

Large homes and termite inspections

Bigger homes have more linear feet of slab, more bathrooms with plumbing penetrations, and more wood trim to check. If you're buying or selling here, a termite inspection is worth doing early in the deal. Drywood termites can turn up in attic framing and window trim. See drywood termites.

  • Tell us the guard gate procedure when you call
  • Note any ponds or course drainage behind the lot
  • Mention fruit trees, since they draw roof rats
