Pest Control in Margate
Margate became a town in 1955 and a city in 1961. Its name comes from founder Jack Marqusee's last name plus the word gateway, since it was meant as the gateway to western Broward. Back then much of the land was still Everglades or farmland. The 2020 census counted 58,712 people.
Margate has been building since the 1950s, and older buildings mean more wear around doors, pipes and rooflines, and that's where roaches, rats and termites get in.

What older Margate homes deal with
Older slab homes have had plenty of time for subterranean termites to find cracks and plumbing openings. Drywood termites show up in attic framing and window trim. And mature trees over the roof give roof rats an easy route in. A full inspection is a good idea if you've never had one.
Condo buildings
In a condo, German roaches and bed bugs can spread between units. If you're seeing roaches in daylight or finding bites, call, and let your association know too. See roach control and bed bug treatment.
